Twylis
With the advent of the Fairy-type and Mega Altaria’s Dragon/Fairy typing, Water and Fairy became the obvious energy cost pair for Altaria in Gen 6. With Fairy having since been phased out of the game, and Mega Evolutions phased out of the main series entirely, it seems the TCG dropped it and returned to the Gen 5 Water + Metal pair rather than transitioning to Water + Psychic.
Fair enough, though. I still have trouble perceiving Psychic as Fairy, and Psychic definitely doesn’t fit Altaria thematically otherwise.
Water, of course, fits both the color *and* the actual properties of clouds.
Hibachi
The water is fine.. it’s the metal bit I have trouble with. Comfy bird with soft cotton wings doesn’t have much resonance with the cool, hard steel type.
