𝑄. I have a Flareon in play whose Incandescent Awakening Ability is active. During my opponent’s next turn, if he discards this Amoongus from my hand, does Surprise Spores still work?
𝐴. Yes, it does.
[Note: Amoongus is not in play when Surprise Spores is triggered, and VIV Flareon’s Ability only shuts down active Abilities of {G} Pokémon in play. Surprise Spores is not shut down by Flareon’s Ability.]
𝑄. When my opponent has 1 or more cards in their hand, and during their turn they discard this Amoongus from my hand by the effect of an attack, Ability, Tool, or Supporter, [can I decide to not] force the opponent to discard their hand?
𝐴. No, you cannot.
[Note: I’m not terrifically sure how to translate part of this question – the section I’ve bracketed off – but the gist is there. Surprise Spores’ activation is automatic and involuntary – neither player gets a say in whether or not it is triggered, it just is.]
