Attach this card to 1 of your Evolved Pokémon (excluding Pokémon-ex and Pokémon that has an owner in its name) in play. That Pokémon may use this card’s attack instead of its own. At the end of your turn, discard Ancient Technical Machine [Ice].
{C} → Ice Generator
Discard all of your opponent’s Trainer cards in play. If you do, prevent all effects, including damage, done to the Pokémon using this attack during your opponent’s next turn.

is it just me or is this card broken?
coolestman22
It’s just you. Trainer cards in play means Tools and Defenders (PlusPowers wouldn’t be in play during your opponent’s turn, TMs were discarded immediately back then.

no, i mean the part where the attacker is invincible
Krisi92
For a turn. There are dozens of attacks that do that.

Actually, this card *was* significant, in that it apparently shut down a prominent stall tactic that was being used in Japan – Multi Technical Machine 01 was guaranteed paralysis, and putting Fossils as your Active stopped your opponent from getting any prizes when they knocked out. (This was used, in combination with Team Magma’s Torkoal, as an effective milling deck.)
The important point of this card wasn’t the temporary invincibility – the important part of the card was it was trashing all Fossil cards your opponent had in play. (This raises some questions here about erratas and language and so forth I won’t go into here except to point out there are significant differences in the EN language of the Sandstorm prints of the Fossil cards, vs. their language for Legend Maker. This is for a very good reason!)
coolestman22
Yeah, I don’t think too many people played tools and Defenders back then, judging by looking at WC decks.

weird…but i can manage

Sooooo…I guess this is as good a place as any to bring it up:
Technical Machines + Omega Barrage pokemon sounds like a match made in heaven. It’s just a shame that there are so few interesting TMs.
Dark Kira
Technical Machine TS-1 + any Basic with Double Strike would be a good starter in balanced formats.

But wouldn’t it lose the option to Omega Barrage after the stage 1 gets put on it? It would no longer be “this Pokemon” at that point. I guess you could use its attack and then evolve, though the uses of that are limited given how underwhelming the attacks tend to be on these Pokemon.
feyblade
I think the idea isn’t that the player would evolve the pokemon with Omega barrage, but rather that the player would double evolution search t1 for no energy at all. You could set up two benched stage 1s,and then set up two stage 2s after the second use of the move. You could also evolve another pokemon with the first move, and then evolve the pokemon with ts-1 attached during the second use.

I guess I forgot what TS-1 did and assumed it was for the active only. In that case, its a very potent combo.
Dark Kira
Yeah, you’d evolve your benched Pokemon, not the active one.
