Once during each player’s turn (before attacking), if that player’s Bench isn’t full, that player flips a coin. If heads, that player shows his or her opponent a basic Energy card from his or her hand. Then, that player searches his or her deck for a Basic Pokémon card of the same type (color) as the revealed Energy card and puts it onto his or her Bench. The player shuffes his or her deck afterward.
· Stadium rule: This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play.

I’m surprised that this comment didn’t age that poorly. Strictly speaking about *only* Rare (excluding HR and up), we’ve only had 7 more Rare Trainer cards since 2002 (up to 2022). https://pkmncards.com/?s=type%3Atrainer+rarity%3Arare

None appeared during gen 5 or 6, and then Beast Ring was probably rare because of how absurdly good it is. But from 2019 on, rare trainers have only appeared in two special sets in order to “pad” the sets with more rare cards. So yes, definitely the exception rather than the rule!
