Surprised Ziggmiceter hasn’t posted here yet to hype how AMAZING it is w/ Garbodor, and how it doesn’t need to worry about Cobalion EX because nobody’s going to play that.
Seriously though, auto-para is interesting, and WILL be played with Garbodor, but I’m not sure if it will be popular enough to tech for. With Scramble Switch, Switch, and Escape Rope though most decks that have a hard time against this will be playing 5-7 Switch outs. I don’t think this deck is going to be too great.

Well, Cobalion EX doesn’t hit for weakness with “Steel Bullet”, if you were refering to that. But “Righteous Edge” does do 60 damage, and discards Articuno EX’s Plasma energy, which is okay. I don’t think Articuno has a place in the metagame right now, because of how good of deck Keldeo/Blastoise is. If the pony ever dies down, Articuno might have a good niche to fill.

If Articuno WAS to be played, it would be BECAUSE of Keldeo, cuz garbodor gives an advantage against it. And of course I wasn’t referring to Steel Bullet OHKOing. But nevertheless I agree hat Articuno is not good for now.

Why would I choose to paralyse a Pokémon for 4 energy when I can KO it for less energies with another EX ?

Maybe you could combo it with Dusknoir BCR for an infinite lock (granted your opponent plays no Switching or Keldeo EX).

That would be good… except everyone’s playing Keldeo EX and/or Switching cards.

Funny you should mention Dusknoir BCR. This combo has actually been played in legacy to devastating effect. To make sure your opponent can’t play Switch or Escape Rope or attach Float Stone to Keldeo EX, you can put Vileplume UD into play, thus blocking your opponent’s outs to the constant paralysis! (Just make sure to use Tool Scrapper to remove any Float Stone or Silver Mirror already in play!) What’s that? Virizion EX PLB counters this strategy? Well, Safeguard Pokémon like Suicune PLB and Sigilyph DRX can wall off all the pesky EX’s that Virizion EX is paired with!
This deck is the reason why Legacy needs bans. The format is nearly unplayable with how definitively this deck wins upon setting up, but it’s a lot of fun when Vileplume is gone and decks like Empoleon DEX / Dusknoir BCR and Weavile PLF / Exeggcute PLF can come out and play in the top tier. I think most Legacy events during the pandemic banned Vileplume for these reasons, and thus, the unplayable format became playable.

        (Actual Articuno EX/Dusknoir/Vileplume placement: https://play.limitlesstcg.com/tournament/5fcd5479bdec90338520b703/player/birdboy2000/decklist)
