{@} → Ghost Head
Put as many damage counters as you like on Banette. (You can’t put more than Banette’s remaining HP.) Put that many damage counters on the Defending Pokémon.
{P}{P} → Spiteful Pain : 40+
If Banette is in your discard pile, this attack does 40 damage plus 40 more damage, then search your discard pile for Banette, show it to your opponent, and shuffle it into your deck.

“A doll that became a Pokemon over its grudge from being junked.”
Note to Nintendo, don’t reprint Clefairy Doll with TM in format. It just got vengeful.

I miss this brand of Stage 1, a cheap AND powerful attack but you have to meet a condition first. Would be kind of pointless now with Basics dealing out 150+, why jump through hoops? :/

Yes I was about to comment on how much I miss the Gen 4 design philosophy of “Working for your Damage” with unique criteria and strategy.

“Spiteful Pain” does resemble LOR Spiritomb!

Ghost Head, meanwhile, resembles Spiteful Sigh on Unified Minds Froslass and Resolute Spite on Chilling Reign Banette.
