Cute that this card features one of those photo you’d more or less assume to be Blaine & Mr. Fuji but still goes through the trouble of obscuring Mr. Fuji.

Blaine appears to be using the Sugimori art also seen on his Gym Challenge card, but I have no idea what the source of that Mr. Fuji art could be or why they felt the need to censor it.
You may be aware, but it’s a specific reference to a line in FRLG’s Fame Checker:
“It’s a photo of BLAINE and
MR. FUJI.
They’re standing shoulder to
shoulder with big grins.”
I assume there’s some Mr. Fuji concept art floating around that, since it isn’t public and they didn’t or couldn’t get permission to use it in time, they just made it blurry as a workaround.

Actually, on further contemplation, I think he’s obscured because there *isn’t* any useable concept art of him. His head seems small, more in line with the proportions of a real-life human, so they likely just colored over a stock photo of some random guy and stuck him next to Blaine. There’s a little bump on his shoulder, too — likely added in as Blaine’s hand.
