What the hell were they thinking when they designed this card ?
“Oh yeah, a 5 energy attack is not bad enough, let’s add a negative effect !”
Professor_N
90 damage back then would OHKO just about everything. The card wasn’t good anyways, with stuff like Energy Removal.
Mantidactyle
Well, Electroburn back then would also OHKO everything. The main difference is that it was a good and usable attack :/
Blob Takeshi
Yeah, 2 energy cards being shuffled after an attack would be less stupid than 5!
MarxForever
They were probably thinking that it has access to x2 fire energy a turn through Blaine, does a guaranteed 90 damage that nothing resists without the need to discard energy or hurt itself, has 90 health itself, could be protected from energy removal through that new fangled No Removal Gym, and it’s “negative effect” was situational and could actually be a blessing.
Keep in mind I’m not necessarily defending it’s playability, just the mindset that went into creating it.
