So, now that something equivalent to Lv. X is essentially canon, I guess THAT will wind up replacing Pokemon EX.

One has to wonder how something as clunky as a stage 3 evolution (Mega Blaziken, for example) could ever expect to compete with Mewtwo EX

I wouldn’t automatically toss Pokemon EX out of the equation. Considering the introduction of non-legendary EX pokemon (Chandelure EX and Excadrill EX), I have a feeling the EX’s are here to stay for a little while longer. I also have a feeling that the X/Y format is going to be a combination of both EX’s and Mega Evolutions (new LV. X’s). I can’t say for certain (considering how counter-intuitive Nintendo tends to be with the TCG) if that’s what’s going to happen, nor can I really say how I think it’ll work… But if its done right, and the new generation of cards are balanced out right, things could get pretty fun.

What I do know, is that in my experience playing around in unlimited format, EX’s and LV. X’s compliment each other quite nicely. So, who knows?

Was looking at this card for a burn-themed deck… that completely aside, I think the TCG megas are boring. They should have brought back Lv.Xs (even if they were to have them level up from EXs as the megas do).

I’m all for the idea of just making Megas actually work exactly like Lv X, as it worked more like Mega Evolution does in the games than he current mechanic.

Except that not all Megas made it to the TCG. :(

I think this has a lot of potential with salazzle and salazzle GX as a super aggressive deck with cards like virbank city gym, choice band, double rainbow energy, and seviper.

Funny choice of words in this Poké-Body. The more standard text reads, “you can’t apply more than one ____ Poké-Body [nowadays, Ability] at a time.” 😯
