This card provides {C} Energy. When this card is attached to a Pokémon, this card provides {W}, {L}, {F}, or {M} Energy but provides only 1 Energy at a time.

For a while, I wondered if releasing a two colored energy with no drawback beside beyond being nonbasic would have been seen as “too risky” for a format..and then they suddenly printed something that works with FOUR colors. This kind of design is kind of ham-fisted, in my opinion. The uninspiring art 5ban Graphics lent for the card doesn’t help it, either. Why does it provide these four specific types? Do they have anything in common? What would the fusion of these elements even logically look like?
I understand that they were trying to encourage decks that relied heavily on multiple types due to the nature of dragons, and that they couldn’t possibly release energy that would “fit” every type of dragon appropriately, but this just feels “off.”
I wonder if they’ll ever produce any card that removes the “colorless when not attached” attribute and confines it to two types. IE “This energy provides [W] energy or [L] energy, but only one at a time.”

I’m pretty sure that the types are chosen simply by what should and shouldn’t be on the same Blend. If Metal and Dark were on the same Blend, Klinklang would be a lot better, for example.
If Fighting and Dark were on the same blend, you could use Terrakion and Groudon EX in Hydreigon decks. Seem broken?
If Fighting and Water were on separate Blends, Garchomp wouldn’t be as happy.
