Pokémon (Bonsly) › Basic

Poké-POWER ⇢ Baby Evolution
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may put Sudowoodo from your hand onto Bonsly (this counts as evolving Bonsly) and remove all damage counters from Bonsly.

{@} → Fake Tears
Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent can’t play any Trainer cards from his or her hand during your opponent’s next turn, and any damage done to Bonsly by attacks is reduced by 30 (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

It looks as if it is always crying. It is actually adjusting its body’s fluid levels by eliminating excess.

Kadabra lured Bonsly away to his secret den, where he would end up raising the youngling as his minion. Twenty one sets later (as of freeze shock/cold flare) Bonsly is still learning about just how evil Uri Geller is. When will he see the light of day again? Who knows.

5 years later, it still has yet to re-emerge, along with most other babies.

The only babies that managed to escape are Togepi and Riolu, thanks to Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Chimecho, Sunkern, Sunflora, Sawsbuck, Cranidos, Rampardos, Cherubi, Cherrim, Turtwig, Grotle and Torterra sacrificing themselves. The majority of which are Grass Types; due mass deforestation, they felt it would be safer with Kadabra in his den than in the outside world.

Another four years, and still no changes.

I don’t get this comment. Wasn’t it posted in 2018? We got a Rampardos and a couple of Torterra that year, and we’d gotten the Venusaur line months prior.

Damn this attack seems even more insane than the new Budew?!?!?

Well, gen four was the only era where Supporters were treated as pure Supporters and Stadiums as pure Stadiums, so this would only block what we today call Items and Tools, on a coin flip, with a largely unsubstantial damage reduction. It’s actually a lot worse than Budew, and it was never played as far as I know.

Although I suppose I should ask, would Supporters from the EX era like Holon Mentor have been converted into pure Supporters when Diamond & Pearl released? Not letting your opponent play older supporters could be huge in the 2007 Worlds format, when decks were almost exclusively playing older supporters. Of course, Psyduck from Team Rocket Returns (https://pkmncards.com/card/psyduck-team-rocket-returns-tr-70/) similar and was never played (though it does cost an Energy), while Manectric ex and delta Dragonite ex are viable decks due to having decent damage output while still shutting off Rare Candy, Holon Transceiver, counters to your disruptive stadiums, etc, in spite of the stipulation that Supporters were exempt from the trainer lock.

Yep, apparently there was errata and those cards counted as pure Supporters.
