The background here reminds me a lot of the Tunnel level of Pokemon Snap

To this day, the reverse weakness and resistances are debated on whether it was a goof (personal view as well), or implying: “Bronzong is weak to Ghost and can have Heatproof.” But Heatproof still makes Fire Damage neutral in the games.

Regardless, it’s funny that the swap mistake lead to Bronzong G being a pocket check to Charizard decks in 2010/2011.

It is worth noting that the original, Japanese version of the card has the same Weakness/Resistance. Strange though it may seem, this could indeed be an intentional change, or at the very least, was by the time the English release affirmed it.

Other Bronzongs in the DP/Pt block have the “swap” as well, except for the MT one (and then the ones in AR). So by the time of Bronzong G at least, I feel like it was intentional. It’s definitely really curious though!

Yeah great points, looking back, they really did make multiple Bronzongs resident to it despite it taking neutral damage with Heat Proof in the games. That would be like Mega Venusaur in the TCG having a Fire Resistance, etc.

I am guessing this is another example of how the TCG designers work with what they have to represent aspects of the video games. Like how (I think) TCG HP reflects not only video game HP, but video game Defense, Special Defense, and even possibly Abilities.
