I can imagine that the Pokémon GO / TCG set may have originally been conceived for the mobile game’s fifth anniversary in 2021; releasing it in 2022 is a bit random.
But given that 2021 was also the 25th anniversary year, Celebrations got the spotlight and I imagine this pushed GO back to 2022.
