Search your deck for a Basic Pokémon or Evolution card (excluding Pokémon-ex), show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.
· Supporter rule: You can play only one Supporter card each turn. When you play this card, put it next to your Active Pokémon. When your turn ends, discard this card.

did this card make professor elm’s training method obsolete?
Pidgeotto the master one
Can you get a pokemon ex with Elm’s training method? After all , a good deal of them are evolution cards. If yes, then that card could still be usable in decks with that kind of pokemon

Yep, you could grab Pokémon ex with Professor Elm’s Training Method. Now, you don’t necessarily need to run it in every deck with evolved ex’s (I’ve never had any trouble playing Banette ex in Ruby and Sapphire through Power Keepers without it), but if you run a deck with multiple evolution lines or single copies of some stage 1 or stage 2 Pokémon, Professor Elm’s Training Method becomes far more valuable.
Of course, bear in mind that Elm can’t search for Lv.X’s, while Celio can.
