What would be the advantages of playing this instead of Pokémon Ranger?

If you play a deck that puts effects on your opponent you don’t wanna get rid of it

        What’s an example of that?

“For the rest of this game, YOUR Pokémon’s attacks do 30 more damage to your opponent’s Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). If this Pokémon has at least 1 extra {W} Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), when your opponent’s Active Pokémon is Knocked Out by damage from those attacks, [YOU] take 1 more Prize card. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)”
Seems like the effect is on your Pokemon, not your opponent’s.

Re: ADP GX, I think the idea is that it removes the effect of YOUR Pokémon costing you one more prize card each time they get knocked out.
Point being: you’d want to play Channeler when going up against an *opponent* who had already played that GX move. You wouldn’t want to remove the effect if *you* are playing ADP.

This card is worded to remove the effects of ATTACKS on your Pokémon. So would it remove the ability on Aerodactyl VSTAR because it is ACTIVATED by an attack (its VSTAR attack)? 🦖

While the ability is an effect of an attack in the literal sense, I believe it’s not an effect of an attack in the game mechanic sense. Personal conjecture without an official ruling yet afaik, but I think Aero would keep the ability. As far as the game is concerned, once the VSTAR effect is used, Aero has the ability printed right on the card.

Thanks! I hope you’re right. Aero VSTAR has such a unique mechanic; I’m not sure there’s been another card like it ever made in the TCG.
