It holds its egg carefully when moving so as not to break it. Still, it is fast enough to disappear in the blink of an eye.

Why does Chansey have an attack called “Egg Toss” when it doesn’t want to break its egg?

Isn’t it obvious? The “Doubleslap” attack establishes that each coin flip represents one of Chansey’s hands. Obviously, the “Egg Toss” attack represents you the Trainer, the monster that you are, picking up Chansey’s precious egg and throwing it. Each coin flip represents Chansey’s feeble attempts to slap her beloved egg out of your hands. Because, again, you are a MONSTER.

Not that you would ever use the second attack, right? They do the same amount of damage each time on average:
    Doubleslap: (0 + 20 + 20 + 40)/4 = 20
    Egg Toss: (0 + 0 + 0 + 80)/4 = 20
(And of course, there’s the whole “you are a monster, stealing Chansey’s egg” thing we just established.)

You’d probably only use it when you need to try for the OHKO but yeah, once you point it out, it’s wild that these attacks have the same EV damage-wise.
