Oh, there are so many problems with this card that it’s hard to know where to start..in fact, this entire set was a bit of a fiasco.
Nosredna
Probably one of the most of the Charizards, has about as much going on a one of the newer promo EX cards. I guess he could be fun in a doubles environment, but other than that sorely lacking. He always struck me as an outlier for not having big numbers on his card.
Charmaster
This Charizard was one of many generation 3 cards designed to interact with the TCG’s short-lived 2v2 format, and it kind of reminds me of how Mega Charizard Y is used in Pokémon Champions’ Double Battle format today. In the competitive video game scene, Charizard’s best attack is Heat Wave, which damages both of your opponent’s active Pokémon and has a chance of burning them; this card doesn’t DAMAGE both defending Pokémon, but it CAN burn both of them!

https://pkmncards.com/?s=%2Btext%3A%22each+defending%22 A list of Pokémon with attacks that affected each Defending Pokémon. I’m not sure if there were any gen 4 cards that did the same thing but worded it differently; 2v2 battles were still KIND of supported that generation, but not to the same extent.

Hey look, it’s a Charizard with an attack that does NOT make you discard energy cards! What a novelty!
