Blob Takeshi
This is the first “Gen 2” Charmander card.

To Blob’s point, this card implements an errata to the text of Ember that existed in Japan at least as early as February of 2000¹ to smooth out the way Clefairy/Clefable’s Metronome was *meant* to work with an attack like Ember. Because the EN Clefairy/Clefable’s Metronome were translated incorrectly and never really fixed, this is a superfluous text change with no impact on that interaction² – however, it does correct the interaction for the English game between, for example, a “Gen 2” card like N1 Togetic, and its Super Metronome attack, and Charmander’s Ember.
¹ Pokémon Card Official Book 2000 errata’d text of several cards, including First Expansion Pack Charmander. See image where the accompanying text is the “update” to the original text. https://archive.is/p0fEe
² Of course, you’d be silly not to play with the original Japanese text as a reference for how their Metronome should operate..
