Great card, but I hate how the ability is worded. It makes it sound like you could discard a card from your hand, then play other cards and then draw your two. Just word it so it says “Once during your turn, before your attack, you may discard a card from your hand and draw 2 cards.”

The phrasing is intended to emphasize that the discard is a required cost to the ability, rather than part of the effect. Otherwise, it would raise the question of whether the drawing effect or discard effect can be done independent of the other one (e.g. if you have a hand of 0 and then try to draw 2).
Zoroark GX‘s Trade ability did have wording closer to what you’re proposing, though. I assume the newer wording is intended to convey that you can’t use this ability to discard anything if your deck has 0 cards remaining.

I know there was an overhaul in syntax with Sword and Shield, so maybe I’m resistant to the drastic change in the abilities wording. “Once during your turn (before your attack), you may discard a card from your hand. If you do, draw 2 cards. You can’t use this ability if you have no cards left in your deck” just feels more natural to me.
