I LOVE this card! Grew up having tons of fun with this and Dark Dragonair + Dark Blastoise from Legendary Collection when playing with friends. Plus this is one of the best artworks of any card I’ve seen. Hydreigon will never replace this for me :P

yeah I love that, you can use dragonair to get your other evos you need, then search this guy out when you’re done and start moving your energy around. I like using it with the DP Weavile and Darkrai Lv.X to keep your offense going and dish out lots of damage

This ability likes to pop up for different types from generation to generation (cf. “Metal Transfer” Bronzong in our current meta). Here in Gen 3, it appeared for {D} types and also for {G} types on RS Sceptile and Venusaur ex.

It’s cute they translated トランス [toransu] as ‘Trance’ instead of ‘Trans’ here! Both could be correct, but ‘Trance’ feels a bit more fitting for the Dark type.

Thought I was losing my mind here, the white card name text and attack text applies only to Dark Pokémon in Team Rocket Returns; however all the ‘Team Rocket’s’ Pokémon as well as all {D} type Pokémon in other sets of series:ex use black name and attack text even while the HP is white. Dark Celebi (which is really Rocket’s Celebi in the original Japanese) is the exception being released in EX5 before these white text rules and special template for Dark Pokémon took effect in EX7.
I guess it’s because those TRR Dark Pokémon have exceptionally dark backgrounds made especially for them, which emphasizes their Dark aesthetic, whereas normal {D} type Pokémon have a lighter shade of black.
