Dark Magcargo · 60 HP · {R}
Pokémon (Magcargo) › Stage 1 : Evolves from Slugma · is: Dark

Pokémon Power ⇢ Hot Plate
As long as Dark Magcargo is your Active Pokémon, whenever a player puts a Baby Pokémon or Basic Pokémon onto his or her Bench from his or her hand, this power does 10 damage to that Pokémon. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance.) This power stops working if Dark Magcargo is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.

{R}{R} → Ball of Flame : 20
You may discard a {R} Energy card attached to Dark Magcargo when you use this attack. If you do and if your opponent has any Benched Pokémon, choose 1 of them and this attack does 20 damage to it. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

    As long as this is your active pokemon AND he is not afflicted by status conditions, your opponent effectively cannot play baby pokemon until he kills you…which probably won’t take long , considering how impotent this guy is otherwise. Worse, this is an evolved pokemon with an ability that relegates it to being obvious tech.This essentially means that it is highly probably that your opponent will have already set up his baby pokemon before this guy can even put his power to use. The decent firepower slugma affords mitigates his problems, but this guy was just a good concept gone astray

    The art design of this card looks like it should have a holo variant. But it doesn’t. Background reminds me of Hitmonlee (FO 22).
