This Pokémon can use the attacks of any Basic Pokémon in your discard pile, except for Pokémon with a Rule Box (Pokémon V, Pokémon-GX, etc. have Rule Boxes). (You still need the necessary Energy to use each attack.)

(Seriously, somewhat surprised to see Numel displayed so prominently here! But the card is so cute that we’ll let it pass.)

Numel is featured so prominently because it’s one of the three basic Pokemon whom Ditto impersonates in the PGO set (also in the F-block)!! In those booster packs, you can sometimes find a reverse holo Spinarak, Numel, or Bidoof that is a sticker. You peel off the sticker and Ditto is hiding underneath! It’s a super cool feature that never appeared before in the TCG. This card’s artwork references that special feature of the PGO expansion.

This card (and all other prints of it) are currently severely broken on Pokemon TCG Live, and it has been since June 2024. This bug renders the United Wings archetype, which has been reinvigorated by the Shrouded Fable expansion, more or less unplayable. I wonder how this will effect the metagame for World’s 2024? I know that this deck is sort of a fringe archetype, but it reminds me of how the meta was impacted by Gift Energy not working on PTCGO for the Regigigas deck in 2022. Here’s hoping it gets fixed soon :(
