Poké-POWER ⇢ Form Variation
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may search your discard pile for a Basic Pokémon (excluding Pokémon-ex and Ditto) and switch it with Ditto. (Any cards attached to Ditto, damage counters, Special Conditions, and effects on it are now on the new Pokémon.) Place Ditto in the discard pile.
{C} → Energy Ball : 10+
Does 10 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy attached to Ditto but not used to pay for this attack’s Energy cost. You can’t add more then 20 damage in this way.

Lol… Normal Type Energy Ball!

**Sorta** resembles Ditto’s card in the 1998 Game Boy Color video game (which was never printed IRL): https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ditto_(Laboratory_D42)

There is virtually no resemblance between the two.
Pidgeotto the Master One
I think he meant that both Ditto’s cards are meant to be morphed into another Basic Pokémon in an one-way transformation (i.e., you can’t get Ditto again after using the power). In this way, it is even possible that this Ditto here was inspired by the GB one, fetching the basic from the discard pile since there is no easy way to emulate the latter one power in RL, without the random number generator from the computer
Charmaster
I mean, there was no easy way to power up that Ditto, either. Even without worrying about Energy Removal cards, it would still be far worse than Pokémon Trader, Good Manners, and even Pokéball. This Ditto, meanwhile, can essentially function as a fifth basic (Or tie together toolboxes). Now, it didn’t see a ton of play, but it can be useful in decks like RS Delcatty/Electrode ex (https://alexwilsonnc.github.io/tes/decks-by-era/2005/rs-em) and UF Ariados/Flareon ex (https://jklaczpokemon.com/ex-decks/#flariados).
Pidgeotto the master one
In fact, the GB Ditto quite sucked, the NPCs who used them where among the easiest do defeat (the ghost guy from the psychic club and the kaleidoscope girl from the grass club, for what I remember)

Are you referring to the way the lips are drawn, out of curiosity?
