Not quite as good as move as Phantom Gate on M Gengar EX — that one can copy even benched Pokemon’s attacks, which this card does not.

Sure, but Ditto has a bunch of other things going for it:
100 more HP than Gengar [and option to use Hero’s Medal and yield 1 fewer prize card]
Doesn’t require the Gengar Spirit Link (PHF #95) when it evolves
Access to V / VMAX supporters: Melony, Rose, Volo
Access to {C} help: Cheren’s Care, FST Dunsparce, Powerful {C} energy
Can use Boost Energy, Double Turbo Energy, Double Colorless Energy

You’d think that could still take a cue from M Gengar EX not seeing competitive play except as an Expanded Mewtwo & Mew GX tech… actually, that could have been just as much due to how late Gengar Spirit Link was printed.
