It should have had two tornados and two Weedles.

Why would you use this over Gust Of Wind? Wasn’t that modified legal while this was?

I think the first rotation was Rocket/Gym Heroes to Neo Destiny. No GOW, so people had to use this + Balloon Berry.

Thus plus Suicune Neo Revelation was nasty. You could retreat an infinite number of times back in those days too.

Also I really like this artwork for some reason. I guess I have good memories playing the card and picking on poor Hoppips. Look how nervous it is in the picture, lol.

    Unrealistic. Hoppip fears nothing.

But what kind of deck is this? Jumpluff/Furret/Noctowl/Ampharos? Hoothoot looks more than willing to pick on that Hoppip and get it OHKO’d.

Looks kinda like the weird promo Japanese art cards we never see here. Mostly because of that hand.

I wonder how balanced this would be, were it reprinted now as an Item. Free retreat is a lot less common these days, but retreat-reducing tools are a staple of most decks — but not enough of a staple to ensure your whole bench is equipped with them consistently.

Its restriction seems to me to put it about on par with Pokemon Catcher, but pleasantly devoid of the luck factor when using it.

It’d be tremendously powerful in something like Lugia/Archeops I think (BDIF in Standard as I write this), because you can easily get Energy to pay the retreat on whatever your opponent chooses to gust up. It also makes Radiant Charizard better because when it moves to the bench the “this Pokemon can’t attack” effect on it gets reset…
