Explicitly designed to counter Mew VMAX. What’s not to like? Can fit easily into any type of deck, and the recoil damage can be easily healed with Siebold or Cheryl.
When was the last time the TCG had a new card produced with the *sole intent* of countering the top attacker in the meta?

How long till we get a version of this card to counter Gardevoir ex? Something with an ability like, “as long as this Pokémon is in play, energy cards in your opponent’s discard pile can’t be attached to their Pokémon in play”?

They printed Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex and it still couldn’t stop the ‘voire. Besides, that deck has a limited shelf life as it will rotate out eventually b

But that’s not what Drapion V is. A version of this for countering Gardevoir ex SVI would be something that could efficiently deal with Drifloon SVI and Scream Tail PAR, or, if we’re stretching the analogy, target your opponent’s benched Munkidori TWM (Say, Pokémon with Darkness Energy attached). Drapion V isn’t a floodgate, it’s an efficient tech attacker.
A Munkidori Ability counter would be interesting, especially one that also shut down Fezandipiti ex, but shutting down the entire Gardevoir ex deck in the same manner as Spiritomb CRE with Mad Party would be poor game design and a poor sendoff for what has been one of the game’s more skill-intensive decks for the past three years (Spiritomb and Mad Party were more relevant in Expanded if I remember correctly).
