Warnock 2022
OK–I’m consolidating and updating my posts I did last week on Kricketune V and Shuckle-GX.
Generation 7 in the TCG saw an explosion in multi-prize cards being given to previously-overlooked Pokémon! By my estimation, these are all the Pokemon from Gens 1-6 that didn’t get a super-rare multi prize card until the Sun/Moon era:
Gen 1: Tauros, Marowak, Slowpoke, Psyduck, Magikarp, Sandslash, Raticate, Pinsir, Venomoth, Eevee, Jigglypuff, Starmie, Exeggutor, Onix
Gen 2: Cleffa, Togepi, Igglybuff, Shuckle
Gen 3: Sableye
Gen 4: Arceus, Dusknoir, Piplup, Lopunny, Porygon-Z, Weavile
Gen 5: Zoroark, Carracosta, Snivy, Volcarona, Whimsicott, Sigilyph
Gen 6: Dedenne, Braixen
Generation 8: so far, these are all the Pokemon from Gens 1-7 that didn’t get a super-rare multi prize card until the Sword/Shield era:
Gen 1: Kingler, Ditto, Meowth, Dodrio, Rapidash
Gen 2: Slowking, Wobbuffet
Gen 3: Torkoal, Breloom, Slaking, Rotom
Gen 4: Kricketune, Lumineon, Rhyperior, Luxray, Drapion, Empoleon, Infernape
Gen 5: Simisear, Liepard, Darmanitan, Stunfisk, Garbodor, Samurott, Golurk, Stoutland, Conkeldurr
Gen 6: Goodra, Talonflame
Gen 7: Crabominable, Oranguru, Dhelmise

Vulpix and Serperior will be getting their first 2-prize cards.

Dhelmise belongs on this list too. O.P. must have forgotten

As a pretty big asterisk to the list: Lv.X are single prizers, but quite a few of the Pokémon listed here did get them back in Gen 4 block of the TCG – let no one be confused and think it took Arceus until Gen 7 to get special treatment, when he got it back in Gen 4 in his very own set! There’s also some incidentals, like Slowking getting a Prime in Undaunted, Wobbuffet getting a BREAK in the XY era, but my point isn’t so much to nitpick the list to death… rather, to point out it’s not quite right to suggest Pokémon were being overlooked for the UR/HR/”rare plus” treatment just because the special cards they did get weren’t coughing up more than a single prize when you KO them.

I think we can add as the final entries to this list: Quagsire, Drapion, Unown, and Omastar.

@ Ambassador — you’re definitely right! I never intended this list to be a list of only ultra rare cards. I only made it because I was bored at work one day haha.
Back in the first two gens getting a holo card was the mark of “ultra rarity.” Plenty of Pokémon on my list got featured as holos long before getting their 2-prize card (Kingler, Unown, Starmie, etc). And there are some that got a holo card and have never been ultra rare again (Nidoking, Kabutops, Dewgong, etc).
