Why does a stage 2 does 50~80 to the active for 3 energies nowadays ?

it’s a low HP stage 2 anyways. relies mostly on status conditions, which considering his first attack, are pretty powerful. 3 status conditions for 1 energy? yes pleasseeeeeee

You don’t attack, you give the conditions and switch in to something that can hit harder.

The main lesson to be learned here is that this is blatantly worse than Amoonguss, despite the superior damage and its ability to inflict more statuses at once, multiple times. Newer players won’t immediately understand how good abilities are, but the pros will, and as a player gets better, he’ll recognize the importance of being able to maintain his tempo. Dustox won’t be appearing in too many Ninetales status decks..but you can bet that Amoonguss will.

The only problem with that is Ninetales/Amoonguss is unplayable.

Arita recently shared this tweet–what does this all mean? It’s showing a Dustox SP card that was never released :o

Arita’s tweet translates to “I drew it (also the missing package)”. Probably a card that was slated for release but never actually came out for some reason. The Deep Poison attack is notably shared with Toxicroak G, but different damage and energy cost.

Super neat. Could be an Arita, since has done 3D artwork here and there (and I think Twylis is right that Arita probably does 3D mockups and then uses that as a reference for his ‘2D’ artwork), but he’s already replied again to admit he’s probably thinking of something else. The person who owns the card would probably be the right person to ask about it, and I did reply to that tweet asking for a picture/scan of the card and any comment on how they got it. Hopefully they do share some info..

So in addition to asking them directly (no response) I asked around and eventually was pointed in the direction of Dustox’s Pokémon GO render. In that light, the background behind Dustox appears to be taken from Skuntank G, and flipped horizontally. I don’t know if the person who tweeted it (who Arita then quote retweeted) intended anyone to get confused and think it was an unreleased cancelled promo or something… but yeah nah it’s not real. (Thanks for sharing anyways, I didn’t see the tweets myself and it would’ve been neat if it had been a real card.)
