Poké-POWER ⇢ Energy Shift
Once during your turn, if Electrode would be Knocked Out by damage from an attack, you may use this power. Electrode isn’t discarded. Instead, attach it as an Energy card to 1 of your Pokémon. While attached, this card is a Special Energy card and provides every type of Energy but provides only 1 Energy at a time. (Has no effect other than providing Energy.)
{L}{C} → Ion Blast : 40+
You may do 40 damage plus 60 more damage. If you do, Electrode does 100 damage to itself.

It is known to drift on winds if it is bloated to bursting with stored electricity.

Two things are going to be true in this game forever. Dodrio is going to have some kind of power/body/ability/whatever they decide to call them in the future about retreating, and Electrode will have one relating to energy and getting KO’d.

And Ampharos will always be triggered to place damage counters.
Shiny Shinx
Not to mention Sneasel and Beat Up, or Jumpluff and attacks costing exactly [G], or Charizard typefixing its Energy, or Vileplume inflicting a Trainer lock.

I do like that common themes are repeated, it feels like they really are thinking about the cards’ species and their history when designing them.

BREAKthrough/Generations Dodrio is the latest example of retreat aid :)
And VIV Electrode is the latest example of KO-energy-boosting!
