This Empoleon card is one of the most broken cards in the Theme Deck format. Featured in the Unseen Depths theme deck headlined by Kyogre CEC, Empoleon could copy Prinplup CEC‘s Targeted Dive for A SINGLE ENERGY, which was usually enough to take a knockout. I had to deal with this in the Theme Deck tournament (https://play.limitlesstcg.com/tournament/69c34e2336f5b5c303dbd0ad/details) held ten days ago on TCGONE, and once tfw KOed my benched Nidorina TEU that I was trying to evolve into a Nidoqueen TEU, Recall just became a delete button for the next several turns. To add insult to injury, at one point he chose to Knock Out a Charizard TEU by copying Piplup CEC‘s Bubble Hold, which meant not having to discard an Energy (Admittedly Bubble Hold is a surprisingly strong attack for an evolving basic… I wonder if Pokémon expected this Empoleon line to be a playable rogue deck in Standard, where Tag Teams abounded).
The other attackers in Unseen Depths aren’t even that bad! Golduck CEC and Ambipom CEC both do solid damage for two Energy.
