Poké-POWER ⇢ Emperor Aura
Once during your turn (before your attack), when you play Empoleon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Active Pokémon, you may use this power. Your opponent can’t attach any Energy cards from his or her hand to his or her Pokémon during your opponent’s next turn.

{C}{C} → Steel Wing : 40
During your opponent’s next turn, any damage done to Empoleon by attacks is reduced by 20 (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

{W}{C}{C} → Whirlpool : 60
Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokémon.

This card is epic… until you read the part about it having to evolve from your ACTIVE…. If it worked from the bench it would have been great.

Oof I just noticed that. Makes this card a lot less impressive :(

I find it funny how Piplup has higher “health” than Prinplup in Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, and Prinplup has higher “health” than Empoleon.

Ever since it was a Steel-type in the games.

      It’s Water/Steel Type in the games…

Anyway, this is Empoleon’s first Metal Type card.

I can’t see the Steel Wing in this illustration.
The only thing I see is a strange dance step.

It appears to be the only mono-{M} Color Pokémon in the TCG with an attack including {W} in its cost. All other cases are dual {W}/{M} Pokémon (five Pokémon ẟ and Palkia & Dialga LEGEND).
