Weird Al
With Block’s Snorlax coming back in the Pokémon GO set, I wonder if this penguin boi will see some use
Weird Al
At the moment, tho, it’s a pretty darn bad card. Like it stops Oranguru but so what? It doesn’t touch Octillery or Houndoom or Bibarel, not to mention all the V abilities. Even Galarian Weezing is better than this
Strč prst skrz krk
At least it blocks ASR Miltank… and Pokémon GO Solrock.
Jiří z Poděbrad
This ability bears some resemblance to Aggron-ex
From Crystal Guardians
Belle
So, wouldn’t this be a really nice tech card in a lost box mirror match? Get your first round of selects off, don’t bother w Cramorant in the mirror and just pull this to the front to stop your opponent in their tracks
Ignis
Path to the Peak and Escape Rope are quite common in Lost Box, so it would not be very effective. I wonder how this card interacts with Spiritomb from PAL?
Belle
Iirc, most of the time with abilities that conflict w each other like that the ruling is that the first one in play stays active. So if Empoleon would be in the active when Spiritomb gets played, Spiritomb doesn’t activate until Empoleon leaves the active.
Yeah Path or Escape rope would counter it but especially turn 1/2, there’s a good chance you could at least win a turn lead with it I think. Feel like I should at least do some testing with it because it could have potential.
Twylis
I believe that interaction is correct, though in this case they’re actually not in conflict — the exact phrase is “have no Abilities”, so if Empoleon V is in the active before Spiritomb, then Spiritomb literally doesn’t even have an Ability until Empoleon V’s ability gets disabled somehow.
This wording also has some other implications — for example, if an ability like this is active, then it would cap the damage of attacks like Evil Admonition regardless of how many pokemon have abilities printed on them (because, for damage calculation, those abilities have basically stopped existing).
