    “Guardian of Love” and Aerodactyl VSTAR‘s “Ancient Star” ability, once activated, cancel out each other. (Aero’s reads: “Your opponent’s Pokémon V in play, except any Aerodactyl VSTAR, have no Abilities.”)
    So…. who wins this stand-off?

      Fairly certain it would be Aerodactyl, since its ability being “always on” would mean its effect isn’t a literal game-mechanic effect. Or something. This ability would block things like Inteleon’s Quick Shooting that require deliberate activation. Not 100% certain though — what constitutes an “effect” is probably one of the murkiest areas of play.

      Reading again though, figuring out what constitutes an effect isn’t important here — Enamorus’s ability explicitly doesn’t protect itself, so Aero would just disable it outright regardless.

        Good points! Thank you.
        I wonder if/when we’ll get official clarification of Aero VSTAR and Unown VSTAR’s attacks-but-also-abilities.

          This might help clarify the situation as well. From pokemon-card.com’s Q&A;

          𝑸. I have a Pokémon [that has an Ability] with a Horror P Energy attached and Enamorus V in play. If my opponent plays RCL Galarian Weezing and puts it into the Active Spot, does Neutralizing Gas remove the Ability of my Pokémon?
          𝑨. Yes, it does.

          And Jiří has pointed out that some of the Q&As regarding Aerodactyl V can be relevant as well. There are also questions and answers about how Enamorus V interacts with [1] SSH Pincurchin, and [2] VIV Dusknoir‘s Spectral Breach+Aurora Energy. [ https://archive.ph/t6daT ] As far as Unown VSTAR goes, no Q&As are up for that card yet as it hasn’t released.
