Warnock 2022
Debut of the attack “Bright Flame.” It’s appeared at least once in each generation except for Gen 6.
Warnock 2022
My mistake — it also never appears in Gen 5.
But look how popular it was in Gen 7! Three separate Pokemon 𝙂𝙓 have the attack!

Oh, wow. They mixed up the attack names.
This card has the following attacks;
Attack 1 – やきこがす [𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐮] Can cause Burn. – Searing Flame
Attack 2 – ぐれんのほのお [𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮] Discards Energy to attack. – Bright Flame
However, compare this to Entei N3-6;
Attack – ぐれんのほのお [𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮] Discards Energy to attack. – Searing Flames
It looks like they switched the attack names around. But, uh, also.. look at Expedition Charmander #98, and its second attack in particular;
Attack 2: やきこがす [𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐮] – Causes Burn. – Searing Flame
So maybe it’s not necessarily a mix-up. It looks like it’s actually Expedition Charmander that set up this problem for Entei. To summarize;
· This card’s Searing Flame attack [𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐮] debuted as Searing Flame [𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐮] on Expedition Charmander #98.
· This card’s Bright Flame attack [𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮] debuted as Searing Flames [𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮] on Neo Revelation Entei #6.
From now on, they’re going to stick with what this card does. Salazzle SSH actually happens to feature both of these attacks so pointing the reader towards that card seems as good a way as any to wrap this story up.
