Poké-POWER ⇢ Energy Return
As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), choose an Energy card attached to 1 of your Pokémon and return it to your hand. This power can’t be used if Espeon is affected by a Special Condition.

{P}{C}{C} → Damage Blast : 30+
Flip a number of coins equal to the number of damage counters on the Defending Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each heads.

    in this format…
    Espeon + Shuckle · HeartGold & SoulSilver Promos #HGSS15 + Emboar · Black & White (BLW) #20 = infinity draw

Thanks for pointing this card out! Been on Pokepedia and read every effect that triggers when you play an energy. Leafeon · Rising Rivals (RR) #45 heals your whole team… that’s the only other combo, I’m a little disappointed but also glad this card doesn’t break the format again, phew!

      Or Espeon + Shuckle + Blastoise/Feraligatr + Dawn Stadium = Infinite Draw/Heal

It would be funny if there was a card that gave your opponent damage every time an energy card was attached to it from hand. This, Emboar, and that FTW.

Doesn’t Ampharos Prime do damage when you place an energy card from your hand to a Pokémon?

He meant a card that damaged your opponent when YOU attached energies. I don’t think there is one, unfortunately.

Forretress LA sorta works, but not really. I think there is something better out there, but I can’t remember what it is. Something from the EX Series era I think. I know there was a legal combo in Japan using Espeon AQ and Blastoise ex at one time, since they had a more expanded format than us. It might have been a damage swap tactic.

I remember Foretress, but I’m pretty sure there’s something that won’t KO Espeon with five drops.

I’ve finally got it! XD To KO all your opponent’s Pokemon without attacking! 0_0
This Espeon, Forretress LA, Deluge Blastoise, Reuniclus BLW, Mismagius LV.X & Unown G GE.

Get them all in play. Deluge Energy onto Forretress, return Energy to hand with this Espeon and repeat until your Pokemon are nearly KO’d. Damage swap damage onto Unown G, turn it into a Tool so the damage drops off, return it to your hand with Mismagius and replay it. Rinse and repeat until all your opponent’s Pokemon are KO’d! :D

That IS pretty amazing, but this combo requires a 15 card suit (14 pokemon, 1 energy) to pull off, 16 (Broken timespace) if you’re gunning for a turn 1 win…

Haha, only took me 2 years to put the 2 combos together @_@
Yeah, it’s not viable in reg. Unlimited and the infinite heal combo is banned in U150… but it’s cool to know it’s technically possible :P

Come to think of it, if we take Alex’s idea and run with it, we could insert 1-2x copies of promo shuckle into the deck. Shuckle provides a draw engine with “only” emboar/blastoise, espeon, and an energy (total card count is 7). Once you have that, you can draw your deck and implement the combo. The only issues that remain are the deck’s susceptibility to combo pieces (such as one of Mismagius’ stages) getting prized

Well, you’ve always got stuff like Rotom UD, Alph Lithograph FOUR, and Azelf LA if necessary…

With the arrival of Healing Raiment, the damage prevention component can be reduced to HEaling Raiment x2, shaving the components necessary considerably.

Or you just use Crobat G + Porygon 2 GE + Scoop Up Cyclone + Lysandre’s Last Resort, although it just isn’t as cool to pull off.

And now with Energy Reset there is no need for Espeon anymore.

          • HEZ jelze

Not quite, there’s only so many times you can use Energy Reset in a turn. Espeon easily goes infinite, that’s why it’s banned in U150.

No, in unlimited Quagsire is OHKOed by too much for that to work.

There’s a tiny error in the card’s info: it says “Specia Condition” in its Poke-power’s description. (It’s present in Espeon (AQ 9) as well.)
