Proof positive that Nintendo does not design around unlimited. This seemingly innocent card combos with Broken Time-Space, Espeon (AQ) and Emboar/Blastoise (as well as any other inevitable blastoise reprint) for a nine card infinite damage combo.

At the time there was no way to attach as many energy from hand to any type. Emboar was the first.

Randomly browsing here to disagree with you. Blastoise EX could do it as well.

True, but you would knock out your Forretress after nine energy drops.

good point, though unlimited decks could use center to mitigate that problem. Without damage prevention effects ( I seriously doubt anyone is going to play stage 2’s as basics and attach eviolite on them) I guess this isn’t a TRUE infinite combo, though you’re going to be pushing out several hundred points of damage without ever using a supporter, provided you have adequate draw power.

Even if you did find a way to play a Stage 2 as a basic (which there do exist a few ways to do,) Eviolite doesn’t do anything in this situation. You’re placing damage counters, not doing damage.
