You can pair this Ability with Legacy Energy, and now there’s a 50/50 chance this Pokémon becomes a 0-prize attacker 😝

Or pair it with M Gengar EX when it comes out, so there’s a 50/50 chance each time, and not just once

Naw the new Mega Gengar ex’s ability only helps Darkness-type Pokémon.

If this is your opponent’s active Pokemon and it has luxurious cape attached and you knock it out with Iron Hands ex’s amp you very much with Togekiss’s wonder kiss succeeding the coin flip and you draw a Chansey from 151, that coun flip could mean the difference between the game ending and you getting to have a turn.

I have been informed that luxurious cape wouldn’t work, so this scenario that’s got a minute but nonzero percent chance of happening wouldn’t be able to actually happen.

Lux. Cape says “If the Pokémon this card is attached to doesn’t have a Rule Box, it gets +100 HP, and if it is Knocked Out by damage from an attack from your opponent’s Pokémon, that player takes 1 more Prize card. (Pokémon ex, Pokémon V, etc. have Rule Boxes.)”
You can interpret this as having two clauses, one being “If the Pokémon this card is attached to doesn’t have a Rule Box, it gets +100 HP” and the other being “if [this Pokémon] is Knocked Out by damage from an attack from your opponent’s Pokémon, that player takes 1 more Prize card.”
On these grounds, that could work…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but since it’s a rule box Pokemon wouldn’t that clause be ignored since this is a rule box Pokemon? I would love to experience this shitposty situation at least once.

The 2 clauses are connected because of the conjunction “and”. Think of Lux Cape as “Rule Box buff” for Pokémon that don’t have Rule Boxes.
Thus Lux Cape has no effect on this Froslass ex.

Someone could check it on PTCGO to see what actually happens…
