I can’t get over the fact that ***Stunfisk*** got a shiny card in the TCG before Squirtle and Bulbasaur and Venusaur ever did.

They absolutely rushed this set. Hidden Fates worked because a great deal of the cards were pretty decent or popular Pokémon, because the set came out near the end of the SM block. Shining Fates popped up early on when there were really only 3 regular sets to work from, so most of the shiny cards in this set are actually pretty awful and aren’t even based on the most notable examples of their species. Very disappointing set for that reason.

Thankfully, Celebrations in 2021 was an absolute banger of a set and redeemed the year for me!
