It clenches opponents with its left arm and finishes them off with foul-smelling poison gas belched from its mouth.

Apparently, Fossil Muk’s ability to negate poke powers (and by errata, poke bodies) does not extend to abilities. I guess unlimited players will have to have BOTH of these guys out to shut out every power and ability in the game….
Even if I’m wrong on that ruling, though, what would happen when the two powers collide? Would the universe implode into a smelly heap of obligatory responding actions, or would they just be treated as if they were the same ability?

Unlimited isn’t really supported, most rulings are just there so there is a ruling… they weren’t thought out at all. Just use your own judgement and make sure everyone your play-group uses the same rule set.
Personally, I think with both in play, all Powers/Abilities (as they clearly are the same thing, under a different name) stop working. So Garbodor’s in play with a tool on, then a Muk comes in… the Garbodors Ability is active as Muk comes into play and Muks Power is disabled. Tool Scrapper the tool and Muk’s Power takes over.

This ability is a boon for Kyogre-EX and Groudon-EX from Double Crisis
