Poké-POWER ⇢ Teleportation
Once during your turn (before your attack), choose 1 of your Active Pokémon or 1 or your Benched Pokémon and switch Gardevoir with that Pokémon. This power can’t be used if Gardevoir is affected by a Special Condition.
{P}{P} → Bring Down
Choose 1 Pokémon (yours or your opponent’s) with the fewest remaining HP (excluding Gardevoir) and that Pokémon is now Knocked Out.
· Level-Up rule: Put this card onto your Active Gardevoir. Gardevoir LV.X can use any attack, Poké-Power, or Poké-Body from its previous level.

Heh, according to the rules team, you can level up the NDE Gardevoir and have both the ability and the power work alongside each other.

An instant kill for one energy? Yes, please!

A Pokemon with an ability like this and Cursed Shadow would be deadly.
ssANGELOFDEATHss
Or you could just use Crobat.
Ziggmiceter
That comment was made 4 years ago, before Mewtwo EX was even out.
ssANGELOFDEATHss
Oh, okay.
oldnintendo
Does it have to be lowest hp pokemon in the field
JP
Yes, the whole field (including your own side). If there’s a tie for lowest HP, you get to break the tie.
oldnintendo
Ok thank you

The phrasing ‘excluding Gardevoir’ is confusing. Does it mean Bring Down cannot target any Pokémon named Gardevoir on the field? The original Japanese says 自分以外 (meaning: ‘excluding yourself’) which would imply that Bring Down can target other Gardevoir but not the original Gardevoir performing the attack. Can anyone confirm?
televisionnation
Perhaps it would say ‘excluding ANY Gardevoir’ if it couldn’t target other Gardevoir whereas ‘excluding Gardevoir’ is implied to mean this specific Gardevoir? These types of confusing wordings would later be corrected with the universal ‘this Pokémon’ phrasing instead of always naming the Pokémon itself.

My take: I would argue you should read it as “this Gardevoir”, and not a block against any Gardevoir at all. As far as the JP text, 自分以外 does seem like it translates as something akin to “other than yourself”, but should probably be read as “other than [this Gardevoir]”, as the following Q&A from pokemon-card.com does implicitly confirm it’s not blocking ‘yourself’ entirely;
𝑄. If my Gardevoir Lv.X’s attack causes one of my own Pokémon to be Knocked Out, who takes a Prize?
𝐴. If the attack causes one of your Pokémon to be Knocked Out, your opponent can take a Prize.
Japan went through the same “{pokémon name}” ➝ “this Pokémon” syntax change that we’re more familiar with in the English edition, and this clearly precedes that in both editions of the game. Hence the weird wording for the text in both editions.

I wasn’t intending to look up Q&As for Gardevoir Lv.X, but here are some others while I’m here and have it open;
𝑄. Can Gardevoir Lv.X Level Up from Gardevoir 𝒆𝒙?
𝐴. No.
𝑄. While the Stadium card Battle Frontier is active, I levelled up [the Psychic and Metal] Gardevoir δ to Gardevoir Lv.X. In this case, can Gardevoir Lv.X use the Poké-Power Energy Jump and the Poké-Power Teleportation?
𝐴. The type of Gardevoir Lv.X, which has Level Upped from Gardevoir δ, is Psychic, so the effect of Battle Frontier does not apply, and you can use the Poké-Power Energy Jump. [Note: And, implicitly, Teleportation as well.]
𝑄. Can I use Gardevoir Lv.X’s Teleportation and [SW] Gardevoir’s Telepass the same turn I Level Up Gardevoir into Gardevoir Lv.X?
𝐴. [The way this question is answered is a bit tricky for me to translate decently so I’m just going to paraphrase; they basically confirm that yes, it can use Teleportation the same turn it Levels Up, and also stop to mention you can’t use Telepass as Gardevoir, Level Up, and use Telepass again just because you’ve Levelled Up.]
𝑄. Can Gardevoir Lv.X Level Up from Gardevoir 𝒆𝒙? If so, what happens to the Pokémon-ex rule that says my opponent can take 2 prizes when they knock this Pokémon out? How does this work with Item cards that say they must be discarded if they are attached to a Pokémon-ex?
𝐴. No, you cannot Level Up from Gardevoir 𝒆𝒙 into Gardevoir Lv.X.
There’s actually quite a few Q&As here so I could be here all day, which I’m not inclined to do. So here are some brief summaries of a few more of the myriad Q&As pokemon-card.com fielded about this card;
· If a Gardevoir δ with a δ Rainbow Energy attached Levels Up into Gardevoir Lv.X, δ Rainbow Energy will only provide 1 {C} Energy. [As above, it’s become Gardevoir Lv.X, a mono-Psychic, non-Delta Species card, so you cannot expect it to work.]
· Another confirmation you can’t use Telepass from SW Gardevoir, and then Level Up and expect to be able to use it again.
· A weirdly phrased question and answer that seems to be testing the limits of the “except yourself”/”except Gardevoir” language of the attack; “if I only have Gardevoir Lv.X on the field, and my opponent only has 1 Pokémon out with more HP than Gardevoir Lv.X, does Bring Down Knock Out Gardevoir Lv.X or my opponent’s Pokémon?” and the answer is the latter.
· A THIRD confirmation about the Telepass ‘trick’.
· A THIRD confirmation Gardevoir Lv.X cannot level up from Gardevoir 𝒆𝒙.
· PK Metagross 𝒆𝒙’s Scanblast against an active Gardevoir Lv.X will indeed also do damage to a benched Gardevoir δ (and/or Gardevoir). The cards have the same name.
· In cases of HP ties, the person using the attack chooses what Pokémon to knock out. (Same thing JP confirmed above.)
· If Gardevoir Lv.X Knocks Out Skull Fossil, it doesn’t activate Skull Fossil’s Poké-Body.
· Someone actually follows up to ask them to EXPLAIN that Q&A, and they clarify that it’s because Gardevoir Lv.X’s attack is Knocking Out Skull Fossil by way of an effect, rather than by way of doing damage, so it doesn’t trigger its Poké-Body.
· Speaking of being an effects of an attack, you CAN choose to target a Pokémon that is unaffected by the effects of attacks, but it will not Knock Out that Pokémon.
· A FOURTH confirmation Gardevoir Lv.X cannot level up from Gardevoir 𝒆𝒙.
Ambassador
Actually, whatever, here’s the rest;
· A fifth confirmation Gardevoir Lv.X cannot level up from Gardevoir 𝒆𝒙.
· If your SW Gardevoir attacks MT Uxie with Psychic Lock, Level Upping it into Gardevoir Lv.X *will* let you circumvent Memory Out and use Psychic Lock that turn.
· If you Surprise! Time Machine a Gardevoir 𝒆𝒙 into Kirlia and then a Gardevoir, you can’t Level Up into Gardevoir Lv.X that turn because you just evolved it. [You can’t Level Up a Pokémon the same turn you evolved it.]
· Similar to something I’ve already paraphrased, if Gardevoir Lv.X’s Bring Down targets a Pokémon with GE Unown G attached to it as a Pokémon Tool, it will have no effect. The way they answered this question leaves me with the impression there’s some kind of joke or wordplay they make while answering it. I’m not terribly sure??? so I’ll paste the original Q&A here for someone else to take a stab at;

Sorry, one last thing. On one of the Q&As I paraphrased above, wherein Bring Down is indeed able to target a Pokémon immune to the effects of attacks (such as a Pokémon with MT Unown G attached) I said you *can* choose to make it the target. I should’ve been a bit more explicit – if it’s the Pokémon with the lowest HP, Bring Down will *necessarily* make it the target of the attack. Just because it won’t cause a Knock Out on the one with the lowest HP, does not mean you can choose the Pokémon with the next lowest HP instead.
