Pokémon Power ⇢ Curse
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may move 1 damage counter from 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon to another (even if it would Knock Out the other Pokémon). This power can’t be used if Gengar is affected by a Special Condition.
{P}{P}{P} → Dark Mind : 30
If your opponent has any Benched Pokémon, choose 1 of them and this attack does 10 damage to it. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

Under a full moon, this Pokémon like to mimic the shadows of people and laugh at their fright.

There’s an error in the text, here. Dark Mind only does 10 damage, not 30, to the benched pokemon. That would have been pretty decent, though.

I always misread the Power as a kid, I assumed it was like Alakazam’s where you could do it as often as you want. But moving a single damage counter? It’s very underwhelming.

Its funny that a gengar with the same ability was viable, although the attack was a lot better

A knock out is a knock out and sometimes all you need is 10. That’s why Plus Power was so good.
In fact, curse could be used to put a lot of the 60 attacks into the coveted 70 range.

Granted it’s perhaps a touch under powered, probably because they were considering the synergy with it’s Pokemon Power.
But, pretty decent? 30 straight, plus 30 snipe, for three energy would’ve been ridiculous. It would’ve had to cost at east four.
