Choose 1 of your Pokémon in play with Giovanni in its name. For the rest of your turn, you may evolve that Pokémon even if you just played or evolved it this turn or if this is your first turn. This effect also applies to the Pokémon it evolves into.

Good way to get out G’s Machamp, Nidoking, or Nidoqueen in one turn! Rare Candy before Rare Candy was a thing! (It was first printed in EX Sandstorm)

More like Broken Time-Space https://pkmncards.com/card/broken-time-space-platinum-pl-104/ or Forest of Giant Plants https://pkmncards.com/card/forest-of-giant-plants-ancient-origins-aor-74/
This is my favorite evolution mechanic because it boosts stage 2 and stage 1 both. Rare candy means you have to leave the stage 1 out of your deck sometimes, which feels weird. As a pokemon fan, I’d rather have a card with a picture of combusken in my hand, as opposed to that boring candy.
