First attack can OHKO any dragon, interesting tech in Darkrai/Hydreigon since it runs blend already

I wish rayquaza had gotten a matching blend.

Psychic…grass? Did they just randomly throw  darts at a board to determine what the second energy type this guy’s attacks would require would be?

I think Giratina should have got Psy/Dark, it suits a Ghost much more. Hydreigon could have been Dark and maybe Fire, that feels like a very destructive type combo.

I’m pretty sure it’s Grass because it resembles a centipede in many ways, so it’s similar to a Bug type, which is Grass in the TCG.

They just choose energies that work with blend energy. So that you don’t have to run weird energyies like actually psychic and grass energies.

That still lends itself to the much more logical Psy/dark.

That might make it too broken in Hydreigon.

I’ve always thought that the Grass came from its anime debut with Shaymin.

^^Why we need dragon energy right here

Yeah, I never understood why they didn’t make Basic/Special Dragon energy. The problem I have with Special Dragon is that I don’t know what they would do that isn’t Special Dark/Metal for dragons.

You could make it like Cyclone and Warp Energy where it gives you an effect of some sort.

I don’t think they need their own energy, Dragons are just a fancy way of doing multicolour cards. They could always just reprint Rainbow or Multi Energy with a more Dragon themed picture.

            True.

It’d be quite easy actually, have the Dragon symbol in the middle then all the other energy types arranged around it… new Rainbow Energy artwork!

they don’t need their own. the attacks are way too powerful, it needs to take more to set up.

You know they’ll give in and make one eventually. Hopefully it doesn’t take as long as it took basic Dark and Metal.

so shred hits for weakness even though it says “isn’t affected by any effects” – does that mean a dragon under the effect of Leavanny‘s Leaf Tailor would still be hit for weakness?

Yeah, that sounds right. Weakness would be applied.

And to clarify, if Vileplume (Boundaries Crossed BCR 3) was also on the board, you’d hit for 2x weakness not 4x weakness.

So if your opponent uses something like Sand-Attack so that your attack does no damage, does Shred bypass that?

I’d guess not, since sand attack is an effect on your Pokemon and not the defending Pokemon.
