This is such a boring card. There’s no nuance or anything to it. It’s weird seeing so little text on an Ultra Rare
Shoopuf
I wish there was an Ability that said that all sub-text is removed from attacks, meaning just energy requirement and damage. I’d call it “Rumble” as a throwback to the oversimplified cards from the Pokemon Rumbled set.

that could get pretty powerful if paired with an Steam Siege Infernape
Shoopuf
Sure, but that’s the point of having counters. I mean, in the years-past Standard formats where EX’s dominated, having a Pokemon with Safeguard was a counter that, if unanswered, meant you just win. Not every deck needed an answer to EX’s, but absolutely every EX deck needed an answer to Safeguard.
So, if someone played an Infernape deck with this non-existent Ability that I’m describing, then people would want to prepare a counter for it (a la Garbodor’s Garbotoxin and the like).
I’m just surprised that there hasn’t been anything printed that interacted in this way. Like something that said that if an attack has no sub-text, that attack does more damage, or requires less colorless energy, or something like that. It’d be simple to design for and it would take “boring” cards and make them fun.

One tiny fun fact: this is the first appearance of “Megaton Fall“!
