Compare this to Huntail from the same set. apparently they’re implying that psychic and dark are like yin and yang
WilliamH.
Interesting. I would say “perhaps they are” but, at least in the VG, Psychic will always lose to Dark (assuming it attacks with only Psychic attacks).
Blob Takeshi
Technically Electric and Fire are yin and yang, since Reshiram and Zekrom are the embodiment of yin/yang.

In Ruby & Sapphire, Gorebyss learned Confusion at Lv.8 and Psychic at Lv.34, and Huntail learned Bite at Lv.8 and Crunch at Lv.34. I think the choices of attack effects of these cards moreso relates to that, and the attack choices in the games are just flavor – Gorebyss has a big mouth so Crunch away. Gorebyss doesn’t have much of a mouth to have those attacks as well, so they did what they’d been doing sporadically here and there and gave it Psychic attacks. Their DP era BDSP# cards will do the same toying with {P} and {D} effects, and later down the line their Primal Clash cards will outright give them “Psychic” and “Crunch” as attacks (though they’ll be divorced of the associated Energy in their attack costs).
