    If High Jump Kick worked like its mainline game form, then it would have this text:

    “Flip 2 coins. If both are tails, this attack does nothing and Hitmonlee does 30 damage to itself.”

      10 damage to itself, tops, I would imagine? HJK only started carrying significant amounts of recoil in later games.
