{R}{R}{R} → Sacred Fire
Flip a coin. If heads, choose 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon. This attack does 40 damage to that Pokémon. Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance.

Legends claim this Pokémon flies the world’s skies continuously on its magnificent seven colored wings.

Could possibly hold the record for most fire energy symbols on a single card. I counted 11.

I think you’re right.

Wow, “Stoke” clips to the Pokémon info section.
Also, both of it’s actual damage dealing moves have to do with coin flips… is this secretly Misty’s Ho-Oh?
BTW, Lugia appeared in Neo Genesis, which was two sets ago! Ho-Oh had to wait until this one, along with the holy beasts and Celebi!

The “S” and “k” of Stoke are overlapping the information box.

Nice catch. I wonder if they never got to make extended templates for the Neo era, like the one Rocket’s Mewtwo uses.

Part of the issue was that they made a new template at all. Even with WotC’s weird energy layout, they likely could’ve avoided this little bit of clipping had they kept the original illustration template — instead, they changed the illustration box’s aspect ratio to match the gen 1 cards, making it take up more vertical space (and also cropping and stretching numerous illustrations to fit it in the process).
riq
You mean the japanese Neo sets use a more narrow illustration box? I’ve never noticed that!
Ambassador
I don’t think any of WOTC’s illustration boxes for the Pokémon (i.e. not Trainers or Energy) were ever quite right, at least not until e-Card.

Yes, it’s particularly obvious on any artwork where something is clearly supposed to be circular. The lens flare on Neo Genesis Sneasel is a particularly good litmus test, and you can compare it with the unaltered Celestial Storm Sneasel art as well.
