Search your deck for a Basic Pokémon named Hoppip and put it onto your Bench. Shuffle your deck afterward. (You can’t use this attack if your Bench is full.)

To keep from being blown away by the wind, they gather in clusters. They do enjoy gentle breezes, though.

A hoppip that lets you get more hoppips? What more could anyone want in a card?
Matheus Aguiar
Plus decent HP and free retreat. Awesome card.
coolestman22
Who in thier right mind would want to retreat a Hoppip?
Curtis
The only reason Hoppip should ever leave the active is to replace it with another Hoppip, and make your opponent scoop out of sheer terror.

But if your opponent would scoop, it wouldn’t matter if you discarded energy.

Best Hoppip ever printed

It’s so happy! I like how Neo Genesis starts to really give personality to Pokémon, instead of using stock art or making them expressionless.

Wow, over 20 years of powercreep and this Hoppip might actually be the best? And not in the broken Base Set sort of way. 50 HP is the most Hoppip has ever seen and the sprout attack is a nice move instead of just 2 energy = 20 damage. Plus a resistance? Not all Hoppip’s can appreciate that. TPCi, bring this kind of Hoppip quality back!

It’s the free retreat that does it for me. First thing I’ll look for when evaluating a basic. That it also has the second thing I’ll look for – ‘ascension’ or ‘call’ attack – is just icing on the cake. Incidentally Neon Genesis also has a Ledyba, Glilgar, Horsea, Natu, and Sneasel that still hold up for the same reason.
