I cannot say for sure because I own physical copies of neither card, but it seems to me like this card’s Jynx has been given a tinge of purple for its face – if it is, it is so dark as to be near-indistinguishable from the original card (which isn’t using a pitch-perfect shade of black, either). If this was a deliberate alteration on WOTC’s part, it’s an interesting one, as they didn’t do anything to change N3 Jynx‘s artwork.
On the other hand, it’s interesting that Expedition Jynx‘s artwork already had a purple face in the original artwork, and this card would appear to revert to the original coloration, or at best a sort of ‘mix’ between the two. In the case of monsters who’ve been subject to alterations, we do occasionally see traces of artists reverting to older designs, but in this case, you’d assume Jynx’s change being borne of necessity would’ve meant artists *necessarily* adopting the revisions, full stop.

Looking through Ebay listings, I’m inclined to think this illustration wasn’t edited at all, and the *very* slightly lighter purple here is the result of variations in ink quality. I’m not sure how long an Ebay image link will survive, but here’s an example:

I also don’t think a Wizards edit would be so slight. They’re not exactly ones for subtlety :v
