You don’t even need to have a brain to recognize that this is a brutal partner for Blastoise. Unlike most of the people who saw the card, I thought that the Battle Strength Deck Keldeo was a powerful card. This, however, takes Base Set Blastoise’s Hydro Pump and amplifies it to insane extents. With five water energies attached, a VERY real possibility, you are doing 150 damage with NO PENALTIES. Rush in syncs PERFECTLY with Blastoise. Having a weakness to the least powerful type in the format really, really helps as well.

That being said, now that times have changed and genesect/virizion are very real and convincing threats, this guy has lost a bit of his luster
